Barret Schlegelmilch of Hilo was recently promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade in the U.S. Navy. He is currently serving as the damage control assistant onboard the USS Seawolf (SSN 21). Schlegelmilch is a 2007 graduate of St Joseph High School and attended UCLA on a Navy ROTC scholarship. He graduated with a major in astrophysics and is also a graduate of the Navy Nuclear Power School and the Navy Scuba Diver School.
